Welcome! My name is Axel Alwan, and I'm a technology enthusiast with a strong background in web development, healthcare, and research. My goal is to utilize technology to solve complex problems.
With extensive experience in HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Python, and various other technologies, I have successfully built internal applications in diverse fields such as finance and healthcare. I am highly skilled in working with frameworks like React and have a deep understanding of database management using SQL.
In my previous roles, I held the position of Senior Clinical Research Coordinator and CTMS Support Lead, where I managed clinical trials and provided technical support for the Clinical Conductor platform. I also served as the primary contact for research participants, ensuring compliance with regulatory and protocol requirements.
Additionally, as a Developer at Stark By Design, I successfully developed Python scripts for a medical device company. I was able to automate the data wrangling for the Kinetic One, a device that provides an objective measurement for tremors. It's used extensively in Parkinson's and Essential Tremor research. I was also able to create an internal inventory management tool for LH Imaging, a medical device repair company. Amongst my accomplishments, I also played a key role in website redesigns, e-commerce implementation, and managing marketing funnels for smaller clients.
I pursued my education in Medicine at Western University of Health Science and earned a BS from Kent State University. To further expand my skillset, I have obtained certifications in Analyzing and Visualizing Data, Building Web Applications, Statistical Thinking for Data Science and Analytics, among others. These certifications have provided me with a solid foundation in programming topics and deepened my understanding of complex concepts. I am IHI certified, IATA certified, Phlebotomy II certified, and hold my ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
I play guitar in my down-time, but I also have a few hobbies. Building computers and tinkering with software is one of my favorite hobbies. When I'm not sitting at my desk, I like to spend my time biking around town, spending time with my family and dog, or I'm exploring new and exciting places.
